VISA BULLETIN FOR MAY 2010

The Department of State has released the May Visa Bulletin, which represents very little overall movement from the current month. The second preference for India remained the same while second preference for China progressed one month from August 22, 2005 to September 22, 2005. The third preference for India moved less than a month: from September 8, 2001 to October 1, 2001. Third preference for Mexico became unavailable while the third preferenc for Philippines, China and other chargeability countries moved a month, from February 1, 2003 to April 22, 2003.

Historically, visa numbers move forward at a bigger pace in the summer, as the Department of State nears the end of the fiscal year on September 30, 2010 and sees that there are still visa numbers available for the fiscal year. Therefore, we should begin to see a bigger jump in the summer, particularly for the Philippines, which has fewer cases in the pipeline than India, according to reports from both USCIS and the NVC.

  4. to ricky: its only based on the january 2010 visa bulletin, they released possible best case scenario that will happen before the end of fiscal year. for ROW and EB 3 Phil, conly those with pdates as early as april 2005 until august 2005 wil have the chance to b given visas.
But who knows? pdates might forward for ROW and PHIL. because of lesser pending cases compare to india and mexico.hope for the best!

  6. LOL!

HLG have been saying that there will be expected to have huge jump since last year, then it went to unavailable. Now, Mexico is unavailable. Historically, when one comes unavailable the other countries follow. Now, this is really becoming a parody, but then again, I hope Im wrong.

  7. Dear HLG & Colleages
Why no comments on PD movement for ROW applicants, or this blog is only for Phil. & Indian RNs only? How much ROW applicants in pipeline & what is the prognosis of PD movement for ROW applicants?
    Thanks

  8. Pushok,
The 3rd preference for the other chargeability countries moved to April 22, 2003. Philippines, India, China, and Mexico have their own categories because they historically have the largest number of people immigrating to the U.S. The other countries are lumped together in the same category for all other chargeability countries.

  9. My priority date is December 2004, but we have received packet 3 from NVC this April 2010 and sent it back to NVC. How is this? I mean, I thought the current dates on process now is april 2003. Do you think guys, it is possible that I might received packet 4 even if my priority date is not yet current? Please enlighten me...

  10. To Sherry L. Neal
This is what I also know from VB.But the fact is HLG always show data for few countries only. My concern is what about per country 7%limit, if Philpne,China, India etc, have the largest no. of people immigrating to US? Why nobody mentioned how many ROW applicants r in pipe line?
