A recent NSNA forum in Florida have advise for new nursing grads: hang in there until 2018. The new grads are finding it hard to get a job. So, if you are somewhere in the world waiting for that visa bulletin as promised that it will improved over and over again and again and again being frustrated and lied upon, Think again if you have to wait that long.
ReplyDeleteTo Ramzenger,dgd,.....
ReplyDeletewhen you're h1b visa is about to expire, when should you file for an extension..is it 2mos before the visa expires? is there a possibility that extension cannot be granted?
what are the options?
thanks...
hello koko,
ReplyDeleteI don't have an H1B visa, it's really kindda confusing really. What I have right now is just a work permit or EAD issued by DHS after I have been sponsored by my current work place. This EAD is renewable every 2 years UNTIL i get visa number. However, my visa screen from CGFNS is expiring in 03/2011 and the rule says that after 5 years, if a greencard has not been issued yet this visa screen has to be renewed 6 months before it's expiration. I also need not take any english exams anymore because I have been working for 3 years here in the US all I need to show is an employment certificate.
Hi KOKO!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I have a minuscule knowledge with regard to H1B. But I know that H1B can be renewed 2 times, and succeeding renewals is at 3 years each.
Consult a lawyer and do your research as well. One site that I recommend is http://www.camotechnologies.com/h1b/h1b-renewal-extension.html
better yet, google it and use google Chrome. Better, faster and specific results.
dgd,
ReplyDeleteI have an H1C visa which is soon expiring. And I also have an approved I-140 but no visa due to retrogression. Do you mean I can also get an EAD based on this approved I-140? What about the I-94 which also expires?
hi dgd & Ramzenger...
ReplyDeletethank u so much for the input, will consult my lawyer..doing a little research on that at the moment..
GC process is still a long wait...waiting and hoping for PD's to advance to 2005 and so on...
Praying for a miracle.
very much appreciated!
hi ica,
ReplyDeleteregarding H1C i am clueless. Best to consult your lawyer on this. The I-94 don't worry about it, that one is already replaced by your H1C visa and it really doesn't get renewed because once you stay longer in the US it must be replaced by another visa like H1B, L1, EB3, (employment based visa) and others.
CIR is going to be introduced. And may be passed.
ReplyDeleteObama has no other go.
There is a rumor that Dream Act will be included in MILITARY APPROPRIATION, is there any chance of NURSE RELIEF ACT being included?

At the May 2010 meeting of the New York State Education Department, the Registered Nurse Professional Practice Committee was presented with a proposal to increase the minimum educational requirement to a Bachelors degree.
ReplyDeleteUnder the recommended plan, all currently-licensed RNs would be "grandparented," and would not have to obtain the Bachelors degree. Instead, all diploma and associate degreed RNs, who obtain licenses after 2012 would need to obtain a Bachelors degree within 10 years of the initiation of their license.
Nurses who failed to obtain the Bachelors degree would have their licenses put on "hold". This “hold” is similar to the action taken when a licensee fails to meet continuing education requirements in those professions that mandate continuing education as a criterion for continued registration.
Other states such as New Jersey also are considering raising their educational requirement. Advocates for the New York plan cite recent studies that show that increasing the number of baccalaureate nurses in an acute care hospital decreases the number of patient deaths. Similar legislation was introduced into the New York legislature in 2005, but was tabled because of supply concerns.
It seems inevitable that states will raise their minimum educational requirements to the level of Bachelors degree. Many countries’ minimum educational requirement is a Bachelors degree. In the US, the only state to have had a Bachelors degree minimum was North Dakota, which lowered their requirement and joined the other 49 states in the middle part of this decade.
Can someone please tell me what is the difference between a delusions and hallucinations?
ReplyDeleteAssoc to BSN....w/in 10 yrs.... after 2012.... SHORTAGE TO INFINITY!!!!
ReplyDeleteObama Urges Senate GOP To Work With Him On Immigration, Energy Reform
ReplyDeleteBy Jared A. Favole, Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- President Barack Obama on Tuesday urged Senate Republicans to work with him on comprehensive immigration reform and energy legislation.
Obama met with the Republican Senate Caucus to discuss his legislative agenda. In addition to energy and immigration legislation, Obama called for the lawmakers' cooperation in order to finish work on measures to create jobs and improve the economy, according to a statement from White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.
The administration has said it wants to focus on passing legislation that would overhaul the financial sector before it would decide to take on energy or immigration legislation. Obama has said that overhauling the immigration system will require bipartisan support.
Obama noted that some Senate Republicans had previously supported efforts to fix the immigration system, which has gained more scrutiny in the wake of recently enacted anti-immigration law in Arizona that allows law-enforcement officers to arrest aliens who don't carry registration documents required by federal law.
The president also told the senators that the Gulf oil disaster should heighten the urgency to develop new, clean energy resources that will "promote energy independence and good-paying American jobs," Gibbs said in a statement.

Well, here we go again.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, the difference between hallucination and delusion is;
hallucination is when you are reading or writing about that CIR will be enacted or about Schedule A relief or anything for that matter.
When the US is in midst of employment turmoil and no end in sight at almost 10% to 13% in some States like CA. Deficit is running so high and the general public has no mood for anything that sounds like amnesty or increasing visa numbers because there is a lot of joblessness in America, new american nursing grads are finding it hard to find a job and some are even going abroad(Yes, they go to South Korea (as volunteer with Peace Corps for example), Africa, Europe even Saudi Arabia.
Delusion? When you think that you will be in US sooner rather than later. Stop wasting your time, if you still have brain cells left, find something to do it with and dont be desperate loser forever.
Dont peddle false hope because it is disgusting already!
Better not to visit this blog, Some persons so disgusting to the core and so selfish.
